Leading Freight Forwarder in the Los Angeles area is seeking an import agent to join their growing branch!

Salary: $21.00-$22.00 an hour

Responsibilities:

• Shipment coordination (setup of shipments and/or amendments to existing shipments based upon client directives.
• Quote requests- obtain competitive and unique price solutions able to satisfy clients requests relative to shipment particulars provided.
• Manage all import and export documentation.
• Tracking updates- Input milestone/tracking updates and provide client updates as shipment progress is obtained throughout duration of shipment move.
• Must be able to negotiate with vendors as needed to gain “spot” or preferred contract pricing as needed and/or determined
• Diligently manage all aspects of tracking shipments to ensure shipment is moving as scheduled and update system milestones immediately upon verification

Desired Qualifications:

• High school diploma required, preferred 1-2 years of experience, but not mandatory
• Passing background/drug screening for TSA requirements
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in MSWord, Excel, Outlook
• Problem solving skills, Must be able to handle pressure situations and multi task
• Ability to work well in flexible, dynamic work environment
